Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has shown no sympathy for the tens of thousands of protesters who've taken to the streets across the country. In fact, he seems to have energized the protesters by calling them capulcu, or "looters" in Turkish.
Prosecutors in the criminal trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager who shot and killed two protesters last year in Kenosha, Wis., will not be able to refer to the people he shot as "victims," a judge has ruled, while defense attorneys may be able to call them "arsonists" or "looters."
The New York Police Department's Intelligence Bureau is collecting license plate numbers from vehicles that carried vandals, looters and thieves around Manhattan in the last two days, a police official told ABC News.
\"Cars would drive up, let off the looters, unload power tools and suitcases and then the cars would drive away,\" she said. \"Then the cars would come back pick them up and then drive off to the next spot. They seemed to know exactly where they were going. Some of the people were local, but there were a lot of out-of-towners.\"
So, even though you might not get into trouble for posting a "Looters Will Be Shot" sign, you may get in trouble for shooting looters. According to some reports, New Orleans police officers were authorized to shoot looters in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. But some of those officers were convicted of murder for doing exactly that.
These words were being digested as the tech giant made the decision to close the majority of its U.S. stores for the safety of those staff and its customers, stores that had only just reopened after the COVID-19 shutdown. Apple has unsurprisingly become a favored target of looters, given the likely spoils on offer, and the decision was taken to remove stock from shop floors and shutter locations.
Apple stores were attacked or damaged in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Philadelphia, with looters stealing whatever products were accessible at the time. But this being Apple, there is a sting in the tail for anyone stealing a boxed iPhone from one of those retail stores.
"Florida will not tolerate looters taking advantage of #HurricaneIan to prey on vulnerable Floridians. They will be arrested and I have asked state attorneys to seek the longest pretrial detention possible to keep them locked up so they cannot commit new crimes."
Xultún was looted as late as 2001, and most community members know of at least one site being dug today. According to Matsuda, many of these looters work alongside drug traffickers to get their material north. At one of the Petén's biggest tourist destinations in May, one of the site's employees even offered to sell National Geographic a looted item.
Garcia, meanwhile, now works for a legitimate archaeological dig in the Petén, guarding the site against looters. He says he understands much better how different sites were connected and the larger story that the Maya have to teach us than when he was simply treasure hunting.
In the meantime, Jones and his two dogs are taking refuge from the flames in the parking lot of Sierra College. He's thankful for the first responders protecting his home from both flames and looters.
Lt. Josh Barnhart is easing some of those worries. He said deputies have saturated the area as much as possible to make sure these homes are secure. But despite the added security, some suspected looters are undeterred.
Looters are generally harmless non-player characters that are found all around the Michigan, collecting scavenge and minding their own business. Larger groups can be encountered near the DMC and the Sprawl, enjoying the relative safety provided by the presence of the DMC Guards, as well as the possibility of trade that the Junk Market merchants offer. There are several different kinds of looters, each with different lines of conversation. There are at least four with names, Shifty, Biddy, John, and Kim and they have at least 3 conversations each.
As an unorganized group, looters don't have any real standing with any of the other factions. They are attacked on sight by members of the wilderness gangs, Bad Muthas and Blue Frogs. When meeting with DMC Guards, there is an equal chance for truce or violence.
There is usually no need to defend yourself against looters, though you may need to defend your items that are on the ground and not in your pack or hands. To easily scare off a looter, threaten them.
It's very hard to get close enough to a looter to hit them with a melee weapon. Thus, a gun is the preferred choice of weapon. Eagle eye, athletic, ranged, and tracking are useful for tracking down looters. Tracking aids you in following their trail, athletic helps you to keep up, eagle eye assists you in finding hiding looters, and ranged lets you shoot them with deadly accuracy.
SAN FRANCISCO - Two months after San Francisco businesses were targeted by looters, we are now getting a sense of how justice is shaping up for those arrested in connection with the brazen burglaries.
Is it not ironical that the first human enemies that you run into are looters, just like you? How convenient then in that they are hostile from the get-go so you can kill them with a clear conscience? But what if you had been confronted with places where nothing was left to loot because others had cleared them out already? And yours are dwindling, you will soon be eating crumbs and rats and insects. Will you go hungry or will you take what you need?
1 The Starved Soldier ought possibly to be listed with the Rogue Military, however several things speak against this. One is the poor equipment, another is the lack of dogtags and the final is that the Starved Soldier is encountered with other groups of looters instead of with rogue military. 2 The Looter Thug might be eligible to be listed on the Thugs page, however Thugs seem to be melee fighters. Also the Looter Thug is encountered with other Looters. What speaks against it is that the Thug is well armed for a Looter making it one of the more dangerous Looters.
These looters are usually all-black mobs. Sometimes Latinos join in. Maybe an odd white person, an Antifa type. But unless I've missed some key videos -- and maybe I have -- the black people are dramatically overrepresented among looters. Why is that? The racist answer is that black people are inherently prone to criminality. That's a racist lie. The more accurate answer is that this is what you get in a subculture where the idea of law and order has broken down. In Britain, there are loads of white criminals raised in housing estates, who exemplify the same kind of yob criminality. Where responsible fathers cease to exist as part of the social fabric, law and order eventually goes away, because young men do not have a force to teach them, and to compel them, to channel their masculine aggression into socially positive directions.
The producers in Atlas Shrugged represent the culmination of Rand's artistic goal to portray the human ideal; and their conflict with looters and parasites is the fullest statement of what she saw as an eternal conflict in human life. This lecture will discuss that conflict as the master theme of the novel, encompassing all the other thematic elements, along with Galt's strike as the master plot. This audio program, sutiable for those new to Rand's ideas, includes discussion of:
Around the corner from Mordin Solus' clinic is an apartment with two human looters inside. Upon being caught red-handed, the looters try to fend Shepard and squad off by arguing that they were there first. 2b1af7f3a8
