If you have ever flown a Concorde before, or are interested in flying one, you will probably want to purchase this upgrade. It is a good way to get to know the airplane, and to make a more efficient, professional flight plan. If you do not have a Concorde, you can use the A320 as a substitute, although you will need to adjust the throttle settings. If you are a little strapped for cash, consider purchasing the Concorde on your own and upgrading it later, or wait until the Concorde becomes more affordable.
The flight dynamics and handling of the Concorde and the A320 are very much the same, although the A320 does have a little more roll rate. The A320 responds much better to throttle inputs, which makes it much easier to simulate. The Concorde does not respond well to the throttle, it is much more responsive to the rudder.
You can even fly the Concorde as an Airbus A300-B4 using the same F4 and F5 buttons. You also can still use the afterburners on the A300-B4. The A300-B4's afterburners are not as big, and not as visible from the cockpit, however. They look like little holes in the middle of the plane.
The Concorde does not fly as well as the A320. It is slow at low speeds, and has an annoying tendency to roll over on landing. It is very good at high speeds. It has a relatively slow roll rate, and sometimes i can get it to fly upside down on approach. I also find that it flies great in all directions. Only the nose is somewhat heavy when flying left and right. That is not really noticeable when flying in the left seat, as you pretty much never look at the front of the aircraft anyway.
The simulation itself is very good. I have flown many flights with the Concorde and some with the 747 and the 747SP. I found the concorde to be a little more responsive and reliable than the 747, but not by much, as the 747 is still good at what it does.
At this time I have not developed a way to make them turn on automatically at a certain altitude, so the afterburners will only stay on until I manually turn them off. This really sucks, and I know it is just a small thing that can easily be fixed.
Landing with the Concorde is also easy, and it is a very stable aircraft. It is somewhat difficult to get the Concorde downwind because it requires a perfect slipstream, but if you are properly aligned and maintaining a nice speed, it does not require much lateral control input.
The other thing that I like about the Concorde is that I can fly it with the F10 button turned on. The F10 button makes the throttle stick hard over, making it easy to fly. This is great for beginners. The reason I mention this is that the Concorde is a very easy aircraft to fly with the F10 button on, and it is not too difficult to learn with.
The F4 button is the most used button on the Concorde. I can take off and land without ever having to look at the throttles, or the slipstream, or the wings. This is great because with a real F-15, you have to check all those things, and then check the other things too. 827ec27edc
